Setting trends at the SAM.
PistenBully show the way for the future of snow grooming.
The SAM is the most significant trade fair in the French-speaking region. Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG presented new, pioneering technologies in Grenoble that protect the environment and your wallet.
After the innovations of the last few years, the Laupheim company is setting the bar once again in the snow groomer market with the PistenBully EQ.1. The study of the PistenBully 600 with diesel-electric drive (hybrid drive) was seen for the first time in France and was intensively scrutinised by the numerous trade fair visitors. The demand for more and more horsepower is clearly giving way to environmentally-friendly, sustainable and above all a more cost-effective drive. Previous tests show that there is a fuel saving of up to 25 %. The attachments that were previously hydraulically driven are now operated electrically. This removes the need for hydraulic pumps and hoses and the associated risk of leakages. The hybrid drive also provides enough power to operate external electric tools, e.g. for repair work.
Small, but superb.
Kässbohrer also offers a wide range of small machines. The PistenBully Scout is the ideal transport vehicle for mountain inns, but also supply companies for water, oil, gas and the telecommunications industry to bring material and manpower to inaccessible places. Loads of up to 750 kg are no problem. The low-maintenance and user-friendly PistenBully Scout is now also available with a large cab for up to 10 people.
The PistenBully Paana from Kässbohrer is the smallest track setter on the world market. The PistenBully Paana with its robust technology, reliability and low maintenance and operating costs has been established on the market for over 25 years.
The Formatic 350 was also shown with a track setter. The Formatic 350, which has been completing the Kässbohrer product range since 2008, offers an unrivalled price-performance ratio and uncompromising, top-class service.
Top of its class.
The PistenBully 600 Polar with winch offers the highest thrust. The enormous torque of 2,200 Nm facilitates very high ground coverage. The winch with active, continuous winch control comes as standard on the PistenBully 600 Polar. For more directional stability and best climbing ability.
GPS for precise slope grooming.
Advisors from SNOWsat gave information at the SAM about the new developments in snow depth measurement and GPS navigation. GPS data is used to produce a cartographical image of the slopes including all cable car poles and snow guns, as well as any potential danger spots. The position of the vehicles is conveyed in real-time to the cockpit. Thus, the system supports the driver's work, optimises the quality control of work performed and is an essential component of increased security for the driver. The SNOWsat system is available for the PistenBully 600 as basic equipment ex works, but it can also be retrofitted at any time.
The SNOWsat system is also available as a high-precision version. This patented solution enables you to follow changing snow depths through the season with centimetre precision. This makes it easier to plan use of snow-making installations and to decide whether slopes should be open to the public.
Also ready for work in summer.
The PistenBully GreenTech not only impresses on the ski slopes of this world. It is the ideal candidate for diverse special uses, such as transporting silage at biogas plants, recultivating waste or mowing marsh areas. There are few limits on any other municipal or agricultural tasks.
Anyone interested in used PistenBully can find out all about available vehicles, their condition, repair packages, prices and much more at a separate stand. The selection ranges from unrepaired vehicles, to ready-for-use PistenBully, to completely repaired machines with guarantee. The difference is demonstrated clearly on a machine that has been left unrepaired on one half, whilst the other has been repaired to PREMIUM standard.
Check-up for your PistenBully!
Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG is also offering special summer courses again this year. You will get tips on maintaining your fleet after the season. The service team was available In Grenoble as always to offer expert advice on all PistenBully issues. Trade fair visitors were able to see the quality of original parts for themselves.
PistenBully fans were thrilled to get the autograph of Luc Alphand, former world class skier and winner of the 2006 Paris-Dakar rally.
The latest developments and trends always on show. Once again, Kässbohrer demonstrated its technological leadership in the world snow groomer market at the SAM 2010.
